SS3
This assignment was pretty easy. I really completed this lesson with my students before Election Day and they really enjoyed the lesson. I was already familiar with Google Sites and creating graphs and spreadsheets. My students, being in kindergarten, aren't able to creat graphs in Excel themselves that is why I had them do it on paper and then showed them how to complete the graph in Excel using a projector. They thought this was really cool and also liked seeing the results in a pie graph. Here is a link to my lesson!

SS2
This module took a good bit of time to figure out the formula and I can only hope that I got them right. Once I had the formulas figured out the process wasn't too bad. Creating the pie chart was pretty simple once the information was in the spreadsheet. I think this would be very beneficial to use with grades in my class because it breaks down the information making it more useful. Here is the link to my spreadsheet and graph.

SS1
When I first started this assignment I was a little overwhelmed, but after getting into it it wasn't as bad as I thought. The first two times I did the spreadsheet I am not sure what I did but it didn't save. I was frustrated but each time I did it I got quicker. The formulas were much easier than I thought.
After uploading it to google docs it was very easy to create the chart. It seemed hard when reading the directions but after uploading it and actually having it there helped a lot. The chart was very easy to create. After I saved it as it's own, I wondered where it had went. I then realized it was saved as a chart on a different screen. I was relieved. :) All in all not that bad of a project!

Visual Ranking Tool (Group Project)
My partner and I decided to do our projects on the nine planets. On the intel site, the students have to put the planets in order. Also, included in our description of our project is a book saved as a pdf file about the nine planets and a follow-up quiz. We also put a website www.kidsastronomy.com to put in our description. This site had several activities. One of my favorites was the students were able to create their own planet.
My partner for this project was Kimberly Klinger. We worked really well together and I enjoyed doing this project with her. We split the project duties and each took on a part to get this project completed. We called each other to confirm all of our plans and I'm really glad that I was paired up with Kimberly. She was great! Thank you, Kim!

Photoshop Express
This was really amazing and I had no idea something like this existed and for free! There were so many things you could do with photoshop. I was able to upload my pictures and decide what transition I wanted and choose audio to go along with my slide show. I just used what the program already had for my song and it was the butterfly song since Vanessa means butterfly. My pictures go in a circular motion. It was my favorite. After I made my album, I save it in my gallery and was then able to use my photoshop address to link it to my blog. Very cool program!!
I hope you enjoy my album!

Web Album
I never knew it was this easy to upload photos online. Picasa is a easy tool to use for this. I downloaded Picasa 3, then chose which photos on my computer to upload, and them uploaded them as a web album. There were other things you could do with Picasa such as crop, adjust the brightness of you picture, and more! This is a great way to share images and will definitely use in the future.

Online Graph 2
The graph is organized by the lower state per capita income to the highest state. The results of this graph were very interesting to me. My graph shows that WV has the second to lowest per capita income, yet has the lowest amount of students on an IEP. I found that the state with the least money is not always the state that has the most students on an IEP. As my graph shows, there is a big jump from Utah to Kentucky. Kentucky has the most money on the chart and also has many students on an IEP. The results of this assignment and the graph shows that even though some states are poorer than others, the students on an IEP appear to be lower, with the exception of Mississippi who is the poorest state and has more students on an IEP than West Virginia, Arkansas, and Utah.

Online Graph 1
It was interesting to see how WV scored in NEAP scores compared to the national average. It is disappointing to see that WV is behind the national average however I feel we are moving closer to closing the gap. We were closet to the national average in 2000 and farthest from the national average in 2005. I feel that WV is doing all we can and preparing our students daily to preform closer to the national average. Using kidzone was awesome. I had never used this before but will definitely use this in the future for graphs of my own and think that students could easily use this as well. Great program!

Screen Grabber
I searched the internet for a fall scence being in the fall mood that I am in. Once I found this beautiful picture, I used the print screen button and then pasted the image into Paint. With my image in Paint, I cut just this picture from the web page and copied it into a new page. I then added text, saved it as a 24-bit Bitmap and used the add an image link under postings in my blog. The size of my photo is 219 KB and is 349 X 214 pixels. I learned about the print screen button from another computer class and think it is a very cool tool. I could use this in my class by saving some images from the internet using the print screen button and saving it to paint where I could edit the image and add text to view later with my whole class to build literacy background.
Graphics from Scratch
This was one of the more easier assignments. I used paint to create my self portrait. Since we could only use five lines, I used the curve line for the mouth, the pencil for the eyes, the brush for the nose and spray paint for my hair. I used colors to make my picture more real. I saved my project as a 24-bit Bitmap. I then uploaded this to my FTP and linked it to my blog. Here is my graphics from scratch self portrait.

Jeopardy Game
This was a pretty awesome template!! I am excited to use this in my class. It was very user friendly but time consuming; however I feel it will be worth it. Here is the link to my jeopary game.

Lesson Plan Photo Story
Creating this photo story about my lesson plan was pretty easy since I had already created an introduction photo story. I am very happy to have had the chance to use photo story and have thought about a lot of ways I can use this with my class and with other teachers. Students could preview lessons at home and other teachers could view lessons that I have created. I hope you enjoy my lesson. Here is the link!

Embedded Google Presentation
Ok, this took me awhile to figure out how to see my presentation on my web page. I was putting the html code but the presentation would disappear after I saved it. I then found a place to insert a presentation and finally got it work, I THINK!! Check it out here!!!
Google Docs Presentation
This feature was really cool and something I had no idea about! It took me a little longer to do this than the power point things. When I uploaded, published and put my lesson on my blog the title was messed up, you couldn't see it because it was too high up on the slide. I went back to google documents and fixed it, saved the changes, refreshed my blog and the changes were there. Amazing! Now everyone can see my lesson and it is very easily accessible. Don't have to click on any links just go through the slides. Very neat!!
Power Point Lesson Web Page
This was just as easy as the show. I saved it as a web page and it changed the extension to .htm. I was a little confused when I saw two different files on my desktop but then figured out I needed both of them for it to work as a web page. I uploaded both files to FTP just like that!!
I am learning a lot from this class and starting to enjoy completing the assignments, I hope I am not speaking TOO soon!!
Saving power points as web pages are a great way for anyone to view your power point. Students can be at home and be able to pull up the lesson presented earlier in class. Great tool that I had no idea about!!

Power Point Lesson Show
I was worried about the show and web page part of this assignment but it was actually pretty easy. Instead of saving it as a presentation with the .ppt extension you save it as a show with the .pps extension. Then I uploaded to my FTP with no problem.
Students could use this to present their shows to other students or teachers.

Power Point Lesson Presentation
I was familiar with power point so this part was pretty easy for me. I had no problems uploading it to my FTP either. I am starting to get the hang of the FTP thing.
Using power point is a great way to present lessons to students in class. They seem to interest the students more than just the teacher talking. Today a lot of kids are visual learners so having a power point to view can be very helpful.

My Photo Story
Using photo story was pretty easy. I did have a little trouble saving it as a wmv file. The good news is I FINALLY CAN USE FTP ON MY COMPUTER!! I researched online how to create a network connection to the FTP!
I enjoyed using photo story and was thinking I could put together a story for my kindergarten class for their graduation in the spring.

FTP
Before this class, I had no experience with FTP. When I FINALLY got a computer that I could get logged into FTP it was sooo easy! I just wish it was more accessible.
I think it is very nice to be able to save files on a site such as a ftp. So many times I email things to myself from home to school or from school to home. Sites such as this would eliminate emailing things back and forth.

Personality Activity
Before taking the test I guessed that I would be ESFJ and after taking the test I was correct!! I was a little surprised that I guessed all areas correct.
I feel this test was very accurate, while reading my description I was completely amazed. Everything in the summary was ME, even down to a kindergarten teacher as a favored career!! This was a really neat test!! :) I also saw where my sister and I had the same results which is true because we are exactly alike!!

Cover Letter and Resume
I was totally clueless at first how to use the Google Documents but once I had a chance to sit down and work with it, it wasn't near as bad as I had thought. I am getting more and more used to blogging as well.
I think it is very neat and a great idea to have your resume posted to a blog like this so that people who are seeking employment can easily have the resume made available to anyone interested in hiring you for a position.
Teachers who teach at middle school or high school level could require students to post assignments to their blogs instead of turning them in on paper.

Starting to feel a little bit better!
I have been stressing since the class began but I am starting to feel a little bit better since I THINK I have my blog created and now my calendar. The calendar was very easy to create but a little tricky linking it to my blog. This calendar would be a very good way for students to keep their assignments organized. Had I known about the google calendar before I would have been using it myself all the time.
